05. Norwegian & EU Students

According to the Deans Office, Norwegians and EU citizens are required to provide proof of residence. In Polish, this is called “zameldowanie”. Find the instructions on how to do this below, it’s especially helpful if you don’t speak Polish.

  • Passport,
  • The original contract of the place you are staying in,
  • 17PLN (cash or card accepted).

1. Go to Libelta 16/20 (Urząd Stanu Cywilnego).
2. Walk towards the two ticketing machines (to the left of the doors) and select “NIE”, then Letter A. You will receive a number.
3. Walk through the doors and wait until your number is displayed.
4. Walk to the appropriate booth, having filled out the TEMPORARY RESIDENCE REGISTRATION FORM.
5. Hand the person your documents.
6. The registration is free and will be done on their computer but you MUST ask for a certyfikat or a “zaświadczenie” (proof that this was done). The person will hand you a form to fill out (title is Urząd Miasta Poznania – Wydział Spraw Obywatelskich).

In the top left box, you put your name, address, Pesel number. Your name is the first blank, then your pesel. Then your street name, building, apartment number. Then for “Które potzebuję do”, I was told to put “Cele prywatne”. Sign the first line and write your full name legibly beside it. Date the bottom line, sign it, and write your name legibly beside it.

7. Pay 17zł (card or cash – but I think with cash you have to go somewhere else? I paid by card with no problems).
8. You’ll receive a “zaświadczenie” with all the information required.
9. Go to the Dean’s office. They’ll make a copy, and you take home the original.
10. Apparently we’re required to keep this updated. So if the Zameldowanie expires, you have to do this all over again in the exact same way.

The form is in English and Polish, but you have to make sure you submit the Polish one. Just use the English one as reference.
